Fulfilling the Great Commission means serving and taking the gospel to the world, beginning in our own community and extending outward. Become a part of building God’s Kingdom by joining in some of the opportunities below.
Serving Our Community
SBC serves our local community in tangible ways, seeking to build relationships as we serve. We partner with our local elementary school to feed the teachers during their parent-teacher conference nights. We also Feed the Hungry – giving out meals to the homeless. Once a month our men prepare and serve a meal at LifePath Christian Ministries, and each month we take a food pantry collection to donate to H.O.P.E., a local cancer outreach center.
Every summer we conduct a free Sports Camp for all community children between the ages of 5 and 12. We also have Vacation Bible School in July where we teach children about God in a fun, welcoming environment.
These are just a few ways we get involved in the community.
Reaching the World
One way that we serve and seek to reach the world for Christ is through summer mission initiatives that through the years have included World Changers, P2 Missions, Pittsburgh service projects, and international mission trips.
Another way that we commit to serve the world for Christ is through support for the missions initiatives of the Southern Baptist Convention. SBC supports missions at home and around the world by designating a percentage of all offerings to support the Cooperative Program and Keystone Baptist Association.
You also have the opportunity to directly support missions by giving to the following special seasonal offerings collected each year:
- Lottie Moon Christmas offering for International missions
- Annie Armstrong Easter offering for North American missions
