Leadership

Pastor Tim has been the lead pastor at SBC since September 2016 after retiring from the US Army. He and Vernessa have been married since 1988. They have four children (Justin, Stephen, Chloe, and Caleb) and nine grandchildren. Tim enjoys music, reading, riding his motorcycle, and time in the outdoors, especially hiking the Appalachian Trail. He is learning to play guitar and serves as the backup bass guitar player in the worship band when Caleb, the starter, isn’t available. Tim serves as a volunteer Firefighter/EMT and as Company Chaplain with the local fire company. Tim holds a Master of Divinity (MDIV) degree and a Master of Theology (ThM) degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and School of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry (DMIN) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chandler has served as the Associate Pastor of Stewartstown Baptist Church since August 2019. With over eight years of ministry experience, Chandler has served in churches in Louisiana and Pennsylvania. Chandler is a Leavell College graduate working toward a Master of Divinity at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Alyssa, have been married since March 2018 and have two amazing children. Chandler enjoys playing board games with his family, video games, and sports. His favorite sport to play and watch is baseball, and his favorite team is the Houston Astros. He also enjoys doing some woodworking on the weekends and reading fiction when he can step away from the books he reads for school and church.
